What Kentucky Justice says
- In Louisville, Lexington, Covington and other places that follow the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act, a landlord must give written notice and 7 days to pay the rent in full.
- The Sheriff serves court papers with the date, time and place of your hearing. Go, even if you reached an agreement with your landlord.
- You must file an appeal within 7 days of the hearing, with the Circuit Court Clerk, and pay the filing fee and any rent due.
Bunkly tip. Don't ignore the papers. Write down the date you got them, and call for help the same day.
